On Behalf of the Live Five Board

Dear Patrons and Supporters,

We want to start by thanking you for your support over the years. You have meant the world to us and you are the reason that we do what we do whether you have been attending our shows for years or are new to our organization and collection of companies.

The landscape of the world has changed dramatically (pun intended) over the last eight weeks and the more we learn, the more we continue to adjust our plans. When we first became aware of the seriousness of COVID-19, we knew that our season would be greatly affected. In mid-March, we postponed Listen to Dis’ Mine to Have to June in hopes that the situation would be somewhat lighter by then. Obviously we know now that we will not be in a position to present this show anytime in the near future due to the pandemic.

Given the circumstances we find ourselves in, I can say quite plainly that this decision was the only decision possible with the restrictions in place. Even if the restrictions in place were not in effect, we would not feel comfortable opening our doors to either artists or audience members at a time when our community safety and health are at risk. This now marks the third show in our season that has been cancelled, so while it pains me to say it, we’re prepared to handle the consequences of these cancellations.

So now the time comes for us to let you know what happens to your pre-purchased tickets and season passes. You have three options:

  1. Get a refund. We recognize that you, like many of our artists, may be out of work and relying on CERB or other programs through this time.

  2. Receive an electronic gift card through On the Boards which can be used towards any future show or season pass. When we say any, we mean any. The credit will not expire until you use it.

  3. Donate to Live Five. We are in a precarious position since we are unable to rely on corporate sponsorship revenue through this time. Many of our sponsors have closed their doors, and times are hard.

Speaking of next season, we have been in talks with our partners at On the Boards and the companies that have been selected to present their shows in our 2020/2021 season. We do not have a final decision on the upcoming season as of yet, but please stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

We wish you all the best, and we look forward to a time when we can gather together in the future.
